Abstract
Recent experiments (1–3) in the layered perovskites suggest that the spin lattice interaction may play an important role in the fenomenology of these compounds. Using a method which proved to be quite accurate for anisotropies towards the Ising limit, we solve the anisotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet in which the spin-lattice interaction was modeled by adding to the antiferromagnetic coupling constant a linear dependence on the lattice configuration.
