Abstract

Ribonucleotide reductase (ribonucleoside diphosphate reductase, EC 1.17.4.1) is a key enzyme in the process of DNA synthesis, in all living cells1. It catalyzes and regulates the production of the four common deoxyribonucleotides, the precursors of DNA, from the corresponding ribonucleotides, the hydroxyl group at the 2’ position of the ribose moiety being substituted by a hydrogen atom.
