Abstract
Good superconducting screen printed films and tapes of various bismuth and rare earth based cuprates have been prepared by using inks made from submicron powders synthesized by a novel coprecipitation process developed by us. Further, spray pyrolized superconducting films of bismuth based cuprate on YSZ substrates have been synthesized. The films are largely single phasic and show highly oriented growth. All films exhibit sharp superconducting transition temperatures. The critical current density depends on processing parameters and can be enhanced by densification using additives like CuO and Ag2O. In Y-Ba-Cu-O materials, Miessner effect as high as 70% is obtained.
