OCAPI : An Artificial Intelligence Tool for the Automatic Selection and Control of Image Processing Procedures

  • Chapter
Data Analysis in Astronomy III

Part of the book series: Ettore Majorana International Science Series ((EMISS,volume 40))

Abstract

We present a general artificial intelligence tool, named OCAPI to manipulate the knowledge on image processing methods and on the use of libraries of procedures. The functionalities and the architecture of OCAPI are described. Then an example of utilization is developed for a pattern recognition problem in astronomy : the processing of an image of a galaxy for its description.
