Abstract

There is a clear relationship between hyperchylomicronaemia (HC) and myocardial ischaemia. One mechanism for a causal relationship between the two is the occlusion of coronary arteries by atheromotous plaques. However, coronary artery disease progresses slowly and myocardial ischaemia is a rapid event which is not always preceded by atheroma.
