Cell Calcium Metabolism

Abstract

Subconfluent cultures of 3T3 fibroblasts were labeled to isotopic equilibrium with [3 H]glycerol and analyzed by thin-layer chromatography after extraction of lipids to determine the levels of [3 H]diacylglycerol (DAG) in comparison to the total amount of3 H incorporated into cellular lipid. The transformed cells used in this study were always compared to their true parental clone and were of recent origin to decrease the possibility that observed changes are merely reflecting long-term cell divergence.
