Point-Contact Spectroscopy in a Heavy-Fermion Metal: UPt3 vs Cu

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 184))

Abstract

For point contacts with the heavy-fermion system UPt3 the non-linearities in the current-voltage characteristics are investigated as a function of the bath temperature. The data are discussed in terms of local heating of the contact area. For comparison, point contacts of Cu show energy-resolved spectroscopy of the electron scattering.
