Abstract

The admission of an adolescent to a psychiatric unit is a traumatic process for everyone. No one wishes to see a child at a tender age, suffering or even worse, admitted to a hospital. It is obviously a painful trauma to the child and the family but it is also a source of anxiety to mental health professionals—the caregivers.
