Ensuring Minority Success in Corporate Management

Abstract

An important determinant of minority management success in the corporate world is the interpretation that the top managements of corporations give to the problems and solutions of the current underrepresentation of minority managers in higher level management positions. For this reason, we felt it was necessary to include among the various perspectives on the problems and issues of minority managers in corporate careers, the perspective of corporations. Obviously, corporations do not themselves speak or think, but we surveyed the top managements of major corporations and asked them to speak for the corporation in their responses. A report of our findings is the purpose of this chapter.
