Abstract
Following Rogers’s (1983) discussion of organizational innovation diffusion, we argued in Chapter 4 that innovation adoption in organizations follows a series of steps. These are (1) agenda setting, (2) matching identified problems in performance with possible solutions or innovations, (3) defining or restructuring the innovation to fit the organizational setting (reinvention), (4) clarifying the meaning of the innovation for the core activities of the organization, and (5) routinizing the innovation as part of the regular activities of the organization.
