Abstract

Shortly after the United States Supreme Court in 1973 legalized abortion nationwide, Christopher Tietze collaborated with The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) in developing and fielding a survey of abortion providers to ascertain the number of abortions and the extent of service accessibility across the country. The AGI Abortion Provider Survey was conducted annually covering the periods 1973-1978 and biannually for years 1979-1982. The 1984-1985 Survey is currently in progress.
