Abstract
I would like to summarize some of the results obtained in Bernardo Nadal-Ginard’s lab in the last two years concerning the number, structure and regulation of the genes for the isoforms of rat muscle protein, I will concentrate on the gene(s) for three of these proteins: myosin heavy chain (MHC), myosin light chain 1/3 (LC1/3) and Troponin T (TNT). The work to be presented has been carried out in collaboration with the following investigators in our lab: MHC: Vijak Mahdavi, Danuta Bois, Muthu Periasamy, Robert Wydro and Russell Medford; LC1/3: Muthu Periasamy and Leonard Garfinkel; TNT: Hanh Nguyen, Russell Medford and Antonia Destree.
