Abstract
The immunomodulators include a variety of biological and chemical compounds whose mechanisms of action involve the individual’s own biological responses. A modifier of the immune response should possess the following requirements:
-
lack of carcinogenicity or tumor enhancing influence;
-
no antigenicity;
-
defined effects on the components of the immune system;
-
known pharmacology;
-
low experimental and clinical toxicity.
