Abstract
Edema (an increase in the relative amount of water in brain tissue), is a common clinical and experimental reaction to central nervous system damage, occurring with both lethal and relatively minor stimuli. CT scanning shows that edema is not necessarily accompanied by any clinical abnormality. We have used a severe ischemic lesion with a high early mortality in order to examine rCBF, edema and Evans Blue leakage.
