Abstract

Dr. Upton’s paper is a timely and important contribution to the clarification of the most pressing issues facing our nation in the years ahead. Mental and emotional illness imposes an enormous economic drain upon our economy, even more so if untreated. The simple truth is that ignoring it does not cause it or its consequences to disappear.
