Abstract
It is an honor and highly appropriate to have a conference dealing with Genetic Toxicology: An Agricultural Perspective on the Davis Campus of the University of California. The Campus started in 1909 as the College Farm to provide agriculture students from Berkeley with some practical experience. In 1922, the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture was offered. The Campus has grown to have an outstanding School of Veterinary Medicine, College of Letters and Science, College of Engineering, School of Medicine, School of Law, and a School of Administration. Since those early beginnings, the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences has grown to be one of the largest in the United States with 4700 undergraduate and 1000 graduate students, and is part of the largest experiment station in the United States.
