Techniques for Enucleation of Mammalian Cells

  • Chapter

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to summarize succinctly a few techniques for enucleating vertebrate cells. It is hoped that the information given will enable investigators to choose and apply a technique for enucleation that is suitable to their cell lines and the problems they wish to investigate. Therefore, I have avoided an exhaustive, critical review of the literature, especially that literature concerning the properties of the subcellular fractions obtained and the results of investigations employing those subcellular fractions.
