Abstract
At times, psychiatrists have caused themselves an identity crisis by branching out into areas of community problems, national problems, international affairs, poverty, politics and criminality which they are not well qualified to handle. Many of us have met the fate of Dr. Peck, illustrated in the verse entitled “Psychiatrists Beware”:
-
There was a doctor named Dr. Peck
-
Who fell in a well and broke his neck.
-
People said he should have known
-
To treat the sick and leave the well alone.
