The Masculine Gender Role

Description

  • Chapter
Men in Transition

Abstract

How does an author begin a chapter on the gender roles of men? It seems like a simple problem, but for the author of this chapter, it became almost insurmountable. Gender role issues and change are usually considered the province of women, as institutionalized in the Feminist Movement. Men and their behaviors are usually discussed vis-à-vis those of women, as part of a feminist analysis of individual and society.
