Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((NSSB,volume 73))

Abstract

In this article, we will describe (1) the intensity fluctuation spectroscopic (IFS) studies on dynamics of muscle thin filaments in solution, and (2) IFS studies on structural fluctuations of muscle cells during contraction. For persons who are not familiar with muscle structure and muscle proteins, we briefly introduce some current ideas about muscle.
