Abstract

The present state of the field of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and different tentative explanations have been overviewed in Ref. 1 (representing the state of information at Oct. 1, 1980). Therefore, in this abstract, we will only shortly review the experimental work of the research group at the University of Düsseldorf and our tentative explanation.
