Abstract
A critical analysis of the most important papers on luteal insufficiency and a clinical study support this article. It is divided into two parts: spontaneous and induced luteal insufficiency. This clinical situation is of interest because it is characteristic of ovarian control disorders and is seldom of ovarian origin. Moreover, infertility is a result of this abnormality and its incidence is probably greater than usually reported.
