Abstract

Usually cited as the principal exponents of cognitive theories on the ontogenetic evolution of imagery are Piaget and Inhelder (1971) and Bruner (1964). Both theories follow the line of reasoning that cognitive maturity develops from “concrete” conceptual organization to more “abstract” abilities in the processing of information.
