Abstract
In order to obtain more information about the remarkable impurity system SrC12:Mn2+ we have, in addition to the electric field effect (EFE) experiments — carried out in our laboratory recently — performed uniaxial pressure investigations at various temperatures between 4–300 K. An important conclusion drawn from the EFE experiments was that the application of a moderately strong external electric field leads to relatively large displacements of the small Mn2+ impurity in SrC12 if the direction of the electric field is chosen along [111].
