Abstract

Particles of primary interest range from natural atmospheric aerosols through cloud droplets and meteoric dust. Problem areas include distinguishing between ice and water clouds, and the effect of irregularly shaped particles on the measurement of aerosol properties using scattered light (such as lidar measurements or optical particle counters).
