Abstract

The investigation of platelet physiology and biochemistry is sometimes complicated by the presence of cellular and non—cellular elements of blood other than platelets. To separate platelets from plasma and other cells most investigators have used conventional centrifugal methods (1, 3, 5, 15, 16). Tangen et al (21) have recently described a new and fundamentally different technique, employing sepharose gel filtration for separating platelets from plasma and studying the requirements for platelet aggregation.
