Abstract

Some years ago this group suggested that microvascular endothelium may be considered as one of the regulators of kinin metabolism on the basis of the following data:

  1. a)

Arterial kininogen is slightly higher than that of venous (15).

  2. b)

Venous recovery of intraarterial bradykinin is very poor, indicating a high capillary clearance (1, 2).

  3. c)

During the reactive hyperemia following circulatory arrest, kininogen decreases (15).
