Comparative Cardiac Effects of Angiotensin, Eledoisin and Physalaemin

In the course of our work on the positive inotropic (1) and antiarrhythmic properties (2,3) of angiotensin, it was observed that this short-chain polypeptide had an unusual affinity for rabbit atria in very small concentrations. In this paper, the cardiac stimulant effects of angiotensin will be described over a large concentration range and some of the data obtained in the course of studies on its mechanism of action will be reported.
