Abstract
A simple and reliable method for detecting rifampicin-induced antibodies in the serum is by the indirect antiglobulin test with normal red cells in the presence of the drug. Since blood group antibodies (if present) may also give positive results, the test must be duplicated by a test in which saline is substituted for the drug. Blood group antibodies will sensitize the cells in both tests, rifampicin-dependent antibodies will sensitize the cells only in the test containing rifampicin.
