Abstract
Papers on human metabolism of penicillins are surprisingly rare. Human metabolites, described up to now, are the following: penicilloic acid (l,2,4,5,11,15 and others), 6-APA (2,3), p-hydroxy-phenoxy-acetaldehyd (7,8) and some non identified, active metabolites of several penicillins (9), All these studies were performed — by microbiological, chemical or isotopic methods — on healthy volunteers.
