Computer Simulation of Atomic Collisions in Solids

  • Chapter
Atomic Collisions in Solids

Abstract

A discussion of the application of computer simulation to atomic collision phenomena in solids is presented, organized under three main headings: (a) technique, (b) the applications of simulation, and (c) the advantages and limitations of simulation. The aim is not to be comprehensive but rather the emphasis is on the nature and uses of the simulation process with examples from the field of particle-crystal interactions.
