Abstract
Toroidal confinement schemes have certain advantages in the study of fusion reactions. One of the machines designed to take advantage of this type of field configuration is the superconducting levitron. This device uses the magnetic field produced by a current-carrying ring, a set of coils that produces a poloidal field, and a toroidal wound magnet (Fig. 1).
