Abstract

Thermal conductivities of more than 20 commercial insulating materials have been measured for various temperature intervals between 20 K and room temperature by means of a spherical conductivity cell of our own design as shown in Figure 1. Thermal conductivity measurements were made with the insulators in vacuum and at various pressures of gas. Results were quite reproducible.
