Physiological Effects of Chlorinated Hydrocarbons on Avian Species

  • Chapter
Environmental Dynamics of Pesticides

Part of the book series: Environmental Science Research ((ESRH,volume 6))

Abstract

The persistent organochlorines have been shown to effect a number of enzyme systems in mammals and birds. Many of these effects are found only at high concentrations, and it is proposed here to concentrate on those effects which have or may have relevance to existing environmental levels.
