Photoabsorption Spectroscopy of Atoms in the Extreme Ultraviolet ( XUV ) Spectral Region

  • Chapter
Photoionization and Other Probes of Many - Electron Interactions

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((SPEPO,volume 18))

Abstract

It is not the object of this short review to attempt to cover all experiments in photoabsorption over the past 40 years. The reader is referred to the reviews of Garton (1), Samson((2) and Marr (3) and the compilations of Hudson and Kieffer (4), Hubbell(5) and Veigele (6). Rather it is intended to look anew at some older experiments in the light of recent theoretical advances, to present more recent data and to pinpoint the deficiencies in both.
