Replication of Filamentous Bacteriophages

  • Chapter
Comprehensive Virology

Abstract

This chapter will review the current state of knowledge of the reproduction of filamentous bacterial viruses. The area of most intense activity since the filamentous bacterial viruses were reviewed last (Ray, 1968; Marvin and Hohn, 1969; Pratt, 1969; Denhardt, 1975) has been the study of the structure and replication of the viral DNA, and, accordingly, these aspects will be the primary focus of the chapter.
