Abstract

At the 56th annual meeting of the American Association of Anatomists, two adjacent exhibits were the demonstration by F. L. Dey (1940) describing the follicular ovaries of guinea pigs resulting from anterior hypothalamic lesions and my demonstration (Everett, 1940a) concerned with spontaneous and light-induced persistent estrus in rats. I doubt that either of us recognized that we were concerned with closely interrelated phenomena.
