Abstract
The intermetallic compound LaNi5 forms the hydride LaNi5H6 under 1.5 atm of hydrogen pressure at room temperature and has a high rate of sorption. LaNi5-hydride has several attractive properties, making it suitable for various applications. It is also relatively easy to make the LaNi5 absorb hydrogen for the first time; there is no necessity to granulate the material. The activation process has been filmed and will be demonstrated in a movie.
