Abstract
A set of biochemical reactions are proposed to decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen using nuclear heat and a carbon cycle. These reactions have favorable equilibrium constants at temperatures below 600°C, and produce food (algae) as a valuable by-product. Municipal wastes can be used as a source of carbon for these reactions, or the algae can be recycled.
