Abstract
Throughout the history of the nutritional science, attention has centered mainly on the nutrient requirements. Fats, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins and the water intake have all come under close study in an effort to determine the body’s need for each, the effect on health of a deficiency or an excess, and the quantitative interrelationships of nutrients.
