Abstract
A phenomenon which has apparently paralleled the recent development in sexology is on one hand the increasing breakdown and parcelling out in the studies on human sexuality. Attention is focused on the various types of orgasm, hormonal levels, karyotypes, average and abnormal erotic behaviors, and sexual subcultures, etc. However, on the other hand such dissection of human sexuality has encouraged the emergence of an even greater morcellement in the labelling which isolates and separates a fundamentally human and integrated dimension; to wit, the differentiation between sexuality and gender identity, sexuality and genitality, and especially between eroticism and sexuality.
