Abstract
The pathological background of surgical diseases is for the most part regional in its scope, especially in the context of malignant diseases. All those gross and microscopic changes which are productive of symptoms, signs, and operative findings are the province of surgical pathology which is par excellence a practical combination of the science and art of pathology and integral to sound surgical diagnosis and treatment.
