Abstract
Various techniques exist for producing tunable laser radiation in the infrared portion of the spectrum. These include the spin-flip Raman (SFR) lasers[1], parametric oscillators[2] and the tunable diode lasers [3]. In the present paper, we will concentrate only on the SFR lasers without attempting to compare the three different techniques of generating tunable laser radiation.
