Abstract

A computer-simulation model has been constructed to study the effects of changing wind strength, direction, and supply on the formation and migration of various types of dunes. The track of the dune through time is studied by means of a graphical map output system that draws maps of the dune’s development at desired intervals. The changes in form and in rates of erosion and deposition then can be studied in detail.
