Abstract
Urologists have always accepted the truism that vesical outflow obstruction should be corrected whenever possible. Until comparatively recently, the efforts of all urological surgeons were directed toward relieving the commonly recognized forms of outflow obstructions, for example, bladder neck contracture or prostatic hyperplasia, but during the last decade a newer dimension has obtruded itself upon the scene.
