Abstract
As has been suggested in /1–3/ the basic role in the muon capture belongs to the mechanism according to which the collective quasi-bound states of the intermediate nucleus are excited. These states are the isotopic analog ones shaping the “giant dipole resonance” in photonuclear reactions and inelastic electron scattering.
