Study of Molecular Motion in Polymers by the NMR Method

  • Chapter
The NMR of Polymers

Abstract

A considerable number of the problems in the physics and chemistry of polymers which may be solved by the NMR method are directly or indirectly related to the effect of molecular motion in the polymer on the NMR spectrum. Thus, the effect of the degree of crystallinity and the chain structure of the polymer on the form of the NMR line, examined in Chapter III, is explained ultimately by molecular motion. In this chapter we discuss only certain trends in the study of molecular motion in polymers.
