Abstract

Every complex process consists of simpler, elementary acts organized in a certain fashion in space and time. Before considering the nature of mechanisms controlling the proper spatial and temporal organization of the elementary acts and processes which together form the complex process of development and differentiation, we naturally must learn something about the nature of these elementary acts of development.
