Abstract
The study of scattered light in silicate glasses, begun by the younger Rayleigh [480], continues to the present day, although the number of researches is not very large. Since Rayleigh, the intensity and depolarization of the light scattered in silicate glasses has been studied by Raman [481], Krishnan [482], Rank and Douglas [483], Levin [484], Maurer [485], and Prudhomme [486], As a result of these investigations, a broad, various, and reliable collection of experimental material has accumulated.
