Abstract

In order to solve the problem of the connection between the occurrence of magma and tectonics, we cannot examine already created structures and already solidified magmatic rocks. It is necessary to penetrate to the deep-seated processes that accompany the formation of magma. In order to accomplish this there is but one course: try to perceive modern tectonic movements at depth and the present-day formation of magma there. It is true that the insufficiency of data does not allow us to exclude data on earlier structures (near the surface, the others we do not observe) and earlier magmas. But such data must be compared with present-day data and explained on the basis of the latter.
